Altar Cloths
The Altar Cloths were donated by the Paul Burk family. Other cloths were made and donated by Elsie Thill.
Antique Sacred Heart Stain Glass Window
The antique stain glass window was from the old church here at Sacred Heart. It was on the east wall right above the original high altar of the old church. It was given to the parish by the Daley family of Eureka, in memory of Francis and Honora Daley. It was carefully removed from the old church after the 1964 fire. Shortly after the breezeway between the new church and rectory was completed (during Fr. Grabner’s time) this window was placed on the east wall there.
Candlesticks
The candlesticks were made in Mexico and purchased by Fr. O’Leary during one of his trips there. He donated them to Sacred Heart church when the new building was dedicated in 1966.
Carpet
The Knights of Columbus donated the new carpet for the church. It was installed in June of 1988, in time for Father McCormick’s return to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ordination. The original carpet, laid when the church was built in 1966, was donated by Paul Burk and his parents.
Chalice and Ciborium (with veil)
The Chalice and Ciborium were donated to Sacred Heart church in 1932 by Anna and Francis Moss. They were used in the old church for many years. The ciborium since replated, is still in use today, in the tabernacle. The veil was made by Elsie Thill. The chalice is used occasionally by visiting priests.
Censor, Boat and Censor Stand
The Censor and Boat were given to Sacred Heart church by Betty Jo Teter, in memory of her son, John Bryan Teter. The Censor Stand was given by John Reilly, in memory of his wife Florence C. Reilly.
Flower Stands
The flower stands were given to Sacred Heart church by Ted and Marlene Mariani and their family.
Funeral Pall
The lovely Funeral Pall was given to Sacred Heart parish by Paul Burk. It was used for the first time during Fr. Hay’s time as pastor.
Infant Jesus of Prague Statue
The Infant Jesus of Prague state was donated from Arthur and Elinor Zimmerman, Jeffrey and Ida Schenk, Leonard and Hilda Schenk and Leo and Elsie Thill. It was placed in the Sanctuary of Sacred Heart Church in the summer of 1988.
Metal Tabernacle
The Metal Tabernacle itself graced the high altar in the old church for many years. It was cleaned, repaired and placed in the new church in 1966, when the building was dedicated.
Landscaping of Church and Rectory
The landscaping was completed and donated by John and Dolores Borst and their family. The landscaping was complete by Spring of 1987.
Large Crucifix
The large crucifix behind the altar was given in memory of the late Bettie L. Sluder, who passed away on August 23, 1976. It was placed there in the fall of 1979, during Fr. Grabner’s time as pastor.
New Baptismal Font
The new Baptismal font was made and donated by Leonard and Hilda Schenk. It was placed in the church on September 2, 1988.
New Monstrance
The beautiful new Monstrance was donated by Leo and Elsie Thill and their daughter Karen Kay during Father Grabner’s time as pastor. It is used for Eucharistic devotions.
New Stations of the Cross
The New Stations of the Cross were given to Sacred Heart Church in memory of the late Bettie L. Sluder and Lois Teter Bitler.
New Wooden Tabernacle Enclosure
The new wooden Tabernacle enclosure was made and donated by Clarence and Mary Frances Orth. It was installed during Father McCormick’s tenure as pastor. It is made of native walnut purchased by the Orths. Clarence designed, built, stained and finished the enclosure.
Old Baptismal Font
The Old Baptismal Font, which graced the vestibule area of Sacred Heart church from 1966 until 1988, was converted into a planter box and placed in front of the church building in September of 1988. It had been in disrepair for several years.
Old Church Photograph
A large copy of the photograph of the old church was made and framed by Father Peltzer in the spring of 1988. It is placed near the main entrance.
Painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe
The beautiful painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe was donated by the McCarthy and Arguelles families of Eureka. They brought the painting in Mexico while on pilgrimage with Bishop Gerber in February 1988. Father Peltzer placed the glass and frame on it.
Pipe Organ
The pipe organ was donated by the Basham family at the time of the church dedication in 1966. It was originally located on the west side of the church, near the sacristy. Kevin Hough was instrumental in having the organ relocated to the rear of the church during Fr. McCormick’s time as pastor. It was during this time when the organ was completely overhauled and rebuilt.
Processional Cross
The processional cross now sits at the west side of the church. It was once an altar crucifix.
Risen Christ State and Sacred Heart Statue
The Risen Christ Statue, behind the Votive light stand, and the Scared Heart Statue, behind the baptismal font, were donated in memory of Bettie L. Sluder, a member of the parish who passed away in 1976. All were installed in Sacred Heart church in the fall of 1979, during Fr. Grabner’s time as pastor.
Small Shrine of Our Lady
The small shrine of Our Lady in front of the rectory was fashioned from the top of the old baptismal font, removed from the church in 1988. The B.V.M. Statue was donated by Father Michael Peltzer.
Statue of Our Lady of Fatima
The statue of Our Lady of Fatima was donated by Father Peltzer shortly after his arrival in Eureka in February 1987.
Statue of St. Michael The Archangel
The statue of St. Michael the Archangel was donated by Miss Mary Annette Grice from Wichita, who is a convert and dear friend of Fr. Peltzer. It was placed in the church in the summer of 1988.
White Marble Holy Water Fonts
The white marble Holy Water fonts- located at the rear of the church- were donated by the late Van Haverbeke family in Eureka. They were used in the old church for many years, until fire damaged the structure in 1964. After many years of storage, they were cleaned, repaired and placed in the present church during Fr. Grabner’s time as pastor.
